All Small Group Lessons are held in Navasota or Austin Area
BeeWeaver's beekeeping classes are taught by our most experienced and skilled beekeepers: Dan Weaver, Roosevelt Roberson, & Lauren Ward. Dan and Roosevelt have each worked hives of bees commercially for over 4 decades. Lauren has a Master's of Science degree in Entomology. Her experience in commercial beekeeping, teaching beekeeping via TAMUs online course, and apiary management at Texas A&M make her one of the most popular beekeeping experts in Texas. Beekeeping classes are tailored to the student's needs and will be hands-on learning with over an hour in hives and ample time given to questions/answers. Most classes last over 2 hours, and we encourage each participant to work the bees so you too can be comfortable. We have noted that new beekeepers who participate in our group lessons have an increased chance of success in beekeeping in their first year.
- Minimum of 5 people must register for a lesson to take place, and a maximum of 10 people may participate in a group lesson.
- BeeWeaver will provide protective gear if you do not have your own. Please do not bring hive tools, gloves, or smokers to reduce the risk of transferring bee diseases.
- Minimum age is 6, and children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult
