Beetle BeeGone

S I M P L E

Insert one or more Beetle Bee-Gone sheets in your colony where hive beetles congregate. Your bees will chew the sheets and turn them into ‘fuzzy’ hive beetle traps. Once hive beetles make contact with the “fuzzed up” sheets, they become ensnared and die.

E F F E C T I V E

For full strength Langstroth hives, use one to two sheets per brood chamber. For Kenyan top bar hives, use one to two sheets per 10 combs.

P R E V E N TAT I V E

Place Beetle Bee-Gone sheets wherever you find hive beetles or wherever they are most likely to lurk, depending upon the season. In cooler weather, beetles prefer the interior or areas immediately above of the brood cluster, or under the cover. In warmer weather, beetles move down to avoid the heat. Place your Beetle Bee-Gone sheets accordingly.

R E P E AT

When you next work your hive, remove the “fuzzy” used sheets—along with trapped hive beetles, and insert new sheets.

    Beetle B Gone sheets

Posted by Unknown on 17th Aug 2017

They work pretty well...the guys use them in every colony. The best part is we don't have to use chemicals to control beetles. Here in FL they are a problem.

    Hive Beetle Control

Posted by Abigail on 10th Oct 2016

This is the best product for keeping hive beetles under control. The bees chew the sheet so that it's nice and fluffy and then herd the beetles into it. Beetles can only go straight so they get tangled in the stuff. If you have your smoker going, remove the old sheet with beetles in it and put it into the smoker...keeps the smoker going and cooks live beetles...Perfect!

    Amazing non-chemical approach!

Posted by Michael Harbison on 11th Aug 2016

These small hive beetle "traps" are amazing! I love the non-chemical approach to hive maintenance so these fit the bill to a T! Just drop in a couple and catch those nasty little critters that reak havoc on your hives! The bees work to tear it up and the beetles get stuck in them! Brillitant!
Thanks for a great product, I'll definitely be ordering more!

    Proof was in the pudding

Posted by Andy on 8th Jan 2016

I wrote an initial review and continued to use the fabric in my hives. I actually used a combination of both the fabric and the conventional beetle traps with mineral oil.
Over time the fabric turned out to be effective; both devices worked, but the fabric is probably easier to manage.

    Just starting this

Posted by Andy on 25th Sep 2015

Appears to have some benefit. One bee and five beetles got stuck in the fabric.

Bees have dragged some of the fabric down through two hive bodies and left it at entrance. Haven't yet looked to see if the magic carpet took any beetles for the ride!

**Hi, Andy. Please try pinching the BBG sheet between the hive bodies or with the frames. The magic is the bees want to remove it and when they can't budge the sheet they chew it. The chewed sheet catches the SHB that try to run and hide in it while not harming the bees! Hope this helps! ~ Laura

Good product, not as messy as regular beetle traps
